Join the ESG-DAY
10th (or 11th) of NOVEMBER 2007
On this day, all over Europe, different YMCA Scouting- and Jungschargroups will cook the same dish, sing the same song and play the samge game!!
Will your group be a part of it??
The ESG-DAY ist ment to help all the different groups of ESG to experience the great unity of the YMCA, even when it’s not possible to meet in the same place. Every year, one country presents one of their typical programmes.
2007 it the year of Romania-Transylvania! They have prepared a national programme for the ESG-DAY. All the groups who participate are asked to send a postcard to Romania (only real postcards count, no e-mails!!). The country which will send the most postcards, is the winner!
So it’s very easy: Meet with your group on 10th november 2007 (or if this is not possible, on 11th november), do the programme proposed by the Romanians and send a postcards to:
Kinga Kaiser Jud. Cluj Loc. Cluj-Napoca Str. C-tin Brancusi Nr 155/11 Romania
Have a wonderful Romanian-Transylvanian ESG-DAY!!

If the thief is caught, the keeper will shout „THIEF!” and the one who has been caught will have to go back to his/her place empty handed, and then the next one in line can try.The game will end when all treasures are stolen and the winner will be the one thief who has gatherd the most treasures.
FOOD: Crêpes (Hungarian: Palacsinta)
Some might call these Hungarian pancakes. Unlike American pancakes, these are served at all meals, and even dessert, much like a crêpe. Fillings include jam and Nutella.
- 2 Eggs
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp. sugar (for sweet crepes only)
- 3 dl (1 1/4 cup) of milk
- 150 grams (5 1/4 oz) of flour
- 1 dl (1/2 cup) of soda water
- Oil (for frying)
Makes 12.
Mix eggs, salt, 2 dl milk, and flour in a large bowl. You can add sugar as well, if you like. Mix in rest of milk and soda water. Mix until creamy. Let the mixture rest at least 15 minutes. Add milk or soda water if the butter is too thick. Lightly oil the pan with a pastry brush, heat. Pour in small ladle of the batter. Gently shake the pan and fry. When the crêpe no longer sticks, fry a few seconds more. Turn the crêpe using a spatula, and continue to fry.
